In September 2023, while corresponding with the general manager, we were able to get the assistance of a corporate liaison. Unfortunately, corporate does not have coercive power over the franchises; they can only attempt to persuade them to do the right thing. In January of 2024, four months after the over-payment was offered, we were still hoping to reach an agreement. Paul Davis of NCI** offered to re-clean our items. For obvious reasons, we declined. Paul Davis of NCI** did not communicate well with corporate and would not respond to us. we refused to sign the release of liability until there was no sign of hope. In January, there was no doubt that Paul Davis of NCI** did not care about Paul Davis values. It was clear that they would do a poor job, hold belongings hostage, attempt misdirection, fail to communicate, and take advantage of a family during its darkest time.

We cut our losses, signed the release, and accepted the check. As we told the liaison, we were not worried about the money. We expected a vocal apology from upper management, some indication of respect, and some assurance they would fix their processes. We do not need money, but really want potential clients to know how bad this franchise is. They, nor any other restoration company, should be paid to do this quality of work.

We filed a complaint with the BBB, which Paul Davis of NCI** ignored.
